Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of Cuba, and Anita Annet Among, head of the Parliament of Uganda, ratified today the willingness to increase economic cooperation ties between both countries.

   This was highlighted after the meeting by the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, who is in the African nation to attend the XIX Summit of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (NAM) and the III South Summit, of the Group of 77 (G77) and China.

   In his message in X, the Cuban Vice President added that his country and Uganda share the intention of continuing to strengthen the historic ties that unite them.

   “#Cuba's relations with #Africa, emphasized @SalvadorValdesM, are historic and have total priority for us. Our culture, identity and nationality, he recalled, have African roots,” highlighted the Presidency of the island on the same social network.

   He also reported that Valdés Mesa pointed out Cuba's willingness to promote ties in areas such as Health, biotechnology and others.

   For her part, Anita Annet Among expressed her country's interest in having Cuba to improve medical services in Uganda, and stressed that the excellence exhibited by the largest of the Antilles in this field is recognized internationally.

   “During the meeting, the President of Parliament sent the warmest greetings to the people of #Cuba. "Know that in Uganda you have brothers," he assured. We are fully willing, he said, to promote the development of our economic-commercial relations,” says another entry in the presidential account.
