ProCuba celebrates Balance of 2020
The Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, ProCuba, held its 2020 Balance Assembly with the presence of the Minister of MINCEX, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz; the First Deputy Minister, Ana Teresita González Fraga; and the president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Luis Carricarte Corona, along with other MINCEX officials and workers from the center.
During the meeting, the work of ProCuba during 2020 was discussed, characterized by its complexity due to the coronavirus pandemic and the resurgence of the United States blockade against Cuba.
Despite this, the main Work Objectives were met, in correspondence with the actions provided for in the country’s Economic and Social Strategy and the Center’s Work Strategy for the period 2020-2022, as well as the criteria of measures linked to the Objectives Ministry of Labor. As stated by Roberto Verrier Castro, director of ProCuba, “it was a challenge for us, however, we generated new services and met all of our objectives.”
In addition, the organization of work in the modalities of teleworking and remote work was highlighted; in which a total of 19 specialists were integrated. In this way, the fulfillment of the planned activities was favored without delays in their execution. For which reason, a call was made to continue working on its improvement.
The Balance had a high participation of the workers of the center, which brought to light various solutions to situations faced today in the Center. The creation of alliances, the transfer of the different work processes to the digital environment, communication with companies, among other topics, were the main topics on which the debate was conducted. Malmierca highlighted the work of the institution as fundamental for the country.
“Our government has outlined a strategy to boost the economy despite all the difficulties. Therefore, we have to get into that reality, we have to make ProCuba play a more active role, in order to continue meeting these objectives. ”
González Fraga, for his part, praised 2020 as a good year for ProCuba despite the great difficulties it faced, taking the center as an example for the operation of telework and distance work. In addition, he emphasized the decisive spirit of his workers to promote all the tasks marked.
